Burnout and compassion fatigues are significant problem within the helping professions as a whole. Unfortunately, therapists are not immune. This course will explore the signs and symptoms of burnout as well as the impact that burnout has on professionals and their clients. The legal and ethical aspects of burnout will be discussed in depth including potential risk for increased liability. Practical tips for preventing burnout will also be explored. Considerations for clinical supervisors will also be discussed.
